About the Virginia Center for Policing Innovation

Who we are: VCPI is first and foremost a top-notch training organization. As an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization, VCPI delivers exceptional services at an outstanding value to law enforcement professionals, criminal justice practitioners, crime prevention specialists, domestic violence advocates, court and civil process personnel, government personnel, community members and others interested in public safety.

What we do:  VCPI is known for collaborative, creative and interactive training but the VCPI experience extends beyond that. VCPI is a valuable resource providing consulting, technical assistance and project management and coordination to local, state and federal agencies as well as private organizations. Beyond that, VCPI pursues partnerships with other organizations to enhance and promote public safety at all levels of the local, state and national community.

When we do it:  VCPI provides our services on a request-basis to organizations interested in public-safety. Currently, VCPI offers over 150 courses per year to Virginia’s law enforcement professionals. Our work also extends beyond state lines to organizations throughout the United States interested in contracting our services.

Where we do it:  For nearly a decade, VCPI has offered training and services throughout the Commonwealth to ensure equitable distribution of much-needed public safety resources. The excellence upon which we’ve built our reputation continues to open doors for VCPI, allowing us to impact public-safety outside of the Commonwealth as well.

Why we do it:  VCPI is committed to our mission to advance public safety by providing unparalleled training and services for law enforcement professionals and the communities they serve.
