Kate Laney

Curriculum Developer/Instructional Design Specialist

Kate joined the Virginia Center for Policing Innovation in October of 2018 as a Curriculum Developer/Instructional Design Specialist. She develops and designs eLearning and classroom curriculum for local, state, and national training initiatives.
Prior to joining VCPI, Kate was an Education and Training Consultant for CSX Transportation, researching, designing, and developing training modules addressing safety and discipline issues within the organization. Prior to that, she was an adjunct at Piedmont Virginia Community College, teaching English and critical writing skills. Kate graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, and was a doctoral student at the University of Virginia, specializing in Medieval English Literature.
