Michele Semko has served as the Finance Manager of the Virginia Center for Policing Innovation since August 2014. As the finance manager, she is responsible for the daily financial activities of the 501(c) 3 organization. She assists in the construction of the grant-specific budgets, monitoring and financial reporting. She assists the Executive Director with the long-range financial management of VCPI.

Prior to joining VCPI, Michele was an Educator with Chesterfield County Public Schools for 11 years, where she not only taught students but provided professional staff development instruction to her colleagues at the school, county and state level. She was actively involved within her field and was awarded the 2011 VAHPERD Middle School Physical Education Teacher of Year.

Before starting her career as an educator, Michele had 16 years of accounting and financial experience working as a Controller and Faculty Instructor for Peoples Income Tax; and an Accounting Manager for Fox Staffing Resources. She managed all day to day aspects of each company’s corporate accounting as well as database analysis and reporting. Michele was a member of Richmond Chapter of Executive Women International, where she promoted both Peoples Income Tax and Fox Staffing Resources within the Richmond community. Michele earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical and Health Education and a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Virginia Commonwealth University.
