HVR Design Tool

HVR Reporting Toolkit

An integral part of VCPI’s comprehensive Applied Evidence-Based Policing Practices: Homicide and Violent Crime Reduction (HVR) program is providing law enforcement decision makers with tools, information, and resources on interventions and countermeasures that are demonstrated to be effective. When searching for an evidence-based approach to reduce violence or homicide in your community, the issue is not a lack of options from which to choose. The issue is: which evidence-based approach should you choose and how?

To help with this challenging process, VCPI’s HVR Reporting Toolkit provides an interactive, guided way to research and identify the evidence-based policing practices that may be most helpful in your community's homicide and violent crime reduction efforts.

With brief tutorial videos and links to current web-based resources, the self-paced Toolkit will help you collect and organize the evidence-based practices most relevant to your agency’s needs. The result is a single, formatted report summarizing your work which can be saved, printed or shared electronically with your colleagues and community stakeholders. The report can serve as an action plan for systematically addressing a specific violent crime problem in your community.
