Your one-stop shop for effective homeland security through community policing
Too often, shattering images of tragic events, violent attacks and bombings are what many think of when considering homeland security and terrorism. Yet, effective homeland security looks nothing like those terrifying images and instead is the picture of law enforcement and communities working in partnership to be vigilant, resilient, and strong. Tactical Community Policing for Homeland Security (TCPHS) delves into community policing as a means of thwarting and strategically interdicting terrorism. Designed exclusively for law enforcement personnel, TCPHS explores community partnerships; practical problem solving strategies; proactive prevention, intervention and interdiction strategies; and values based policing in the climate of terrorism. TCPHS is a comprehensive program that strengthens the capacity of law enforcement agencies to effectively implement an all-crimes approach to homeland security. Focusing on the practical application of principles, TCPHS provides tools that are immediately applicable for the street level officer to effectively engage in homeland security activities while encouraging a thriving community policing environment.
